Behind Bennett is a meter reader, a Walnut Creek Police Car and the boot of an officer while he lay bleeding in the street. Bennett was taken to Kaiser for scans when did get the skull fracture, then she noticed the broken collar bone, then the rotator cuff, then she noticed this was the first assualt case based on my charts.

(CNN) Bernard Tyson, the CEO of Kaiser Permanente, died in his sleep early Sunday at the age of 60,

Yep Pete knows Kaiser from the inside but when
Kaiser needed a programmer they called Pete Bennett
Apparently over 20 years of IT Experience he wasn't qualified

(CNN)Bernard Tyson, the CEO of Kaiser Permanente, died in his sleep early Sunday at the age of 60.

Between 2000 and up to around 2007, Pete Bennett ended up in the ER many times with a litany of unusual medical maladies.  Most incidents Bennett was treated at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez CA.  Many of his caregivers were connected to the larger bay area Mormon community which extends into Salt Lake City and members of family.

(CNN)Bernard Tyson, the CEO of Kaiser Permanente, died in his sleep early Sunday at the age of 60, the company confirmed to CNN Business. Tyson had served as chief executive since 2013 and chairman since 2014 after a more than 30-year career with the company.
In addition to leading one of the nation's largest nonprofit health plans, Tyson was the company's first black CEO and a champion for accessible healthcare, racial justice and workplace diversity. Time Magazine named him to its "100 Most Influential People" list in 2017 and its list of 50 top leaders in healthcare in 2018.
"An outstanding leader, visionary and champion for high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans, Bernard was a tireless advocate for Kaiser Permanente, our members and the communities we serve," the company said in a statement Sunday.
Based in Oakland, California, Kaiser Permanente is a not-for-profit hospital and health insurance system serving 12.3 million people in eight states and the District of Columbia. Executive Vice President and Group President Gregory Adams has been named as interim chairman and CEO, the company said Sunday.
During his tenure at Kaiser, the company grew its workforce of 174,000 to 218,000 people, and its annual revenue from $53 billion to nearly $83 billion. Tyson also served on the board of directors for the American Heart Association and Salesforce and was a member of the Business Council, a group of the United States' 200 leading CEOs.
"A light unto this world has gone out," Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, tweeted Sunday. "He always did so much for others & the world. One of the world's greatest CEOs. I will always remember him with LOVE in my heart."
In recent years, Tyson has become known as a leading voice on issues of race.
After the 2014 shooting of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, Tyson published an essay titled "It's Time to Revolutionize Race Relations" detailing the different ways he was treated in the C-Suite versus his everyday life.
"You would think my experience as a top executive would be different from a black man who is working in a retail or food service job to support his family. Yet, he and I both understand the commonality of the black male experience that remains consistent no matter what the economic status or job title," Tyson wrote, adding that he had been followed in high-end stores and had servers in restaurants explain to him how to tip "since apparently black men don't understand this concept."
The day before his death, Tyson spoke at a conference on equity in healthcare and technology. Earlier that week, Tyson spoke on a panel at the AT&T Business Summit, where he discussed the need for companies to be both diverse and inclusive of diverse workforces.
"What I'm after is bringing the most diverse populations inside of my organization and tapping into the brilliant minds that come from a universe of experiences that are very different depending on how you grew up, your community, your neighborhood, how you solve problems," Tyson said at the AT&T event Tuesday.
"Inclusiveness is very important to me and that means when I step into the room — yes, I may be different from everybody at the table — but I don't have to 'fit in.' I get to come in and be who I am and I create a different organism inside of that group dynamic for us to take performance to the next level," he said.

HATTORI (voice-over): These days, computer programmer Pete Bennett is building boats for his kids instead of software.

PETE BENNETT, COMPUTER PROGRAMMER: Well, I was a cabinetmaker for 15 years.

HATTORI: But after more than a decade in high tech, this year Bennett has worked on just one software project so far, a victim of the economic slowdown and, he says, an immigration program that's making the job market even worst.

BENNETT: The American citizens are getting hurt. The H1-B workers are getting hurt. And something needs to be done to straighten this thing out -- and quit.

HATTORI: Bennett believes the federal H1-B visa program, which allows nearly 200,000 skilled workers a year into the U.S., is unnecessary and being abused.

HATTORI (on camera): Bottom line, are H1-B visa holders taking jobs that American citizens could be filling?

BENNETT: That's the general consensus among my peers, and myself.

HATTORI: He's not alone. An organization representing nearly 250,000 high-tech professionals has written to Congress. They want to know why Americans are getting laid off while workers from abroad continue to work. The H1-B program was supposed to give skilled overseas workers jobs when qualified Americans cannot be found. The visas were initially capped at 65,000 in 1998, but Congress upped it to 195,000 last year. HATTORI: In fact, perhaps because of the U.S. economic slump, H1-B applications are down dramatically, 48 percent fewer so far this year compared to last. But critics say the decline is not keeping pace with layoffs here in the U.S.

Norm Matloff is a professor at the University of California at Davis, who has studied hiring practices at high-tech companies.

NORM MATLOFF, UNIV. OF CALIFORNIA-DAVIS: What Congress ought to do is just cancel the whole H1-B program. And in its place put a very small program with very strong protections, and without the loopholes they have now.

HATTORI: Loopholes that, critics say, for example, let companies hire H1-B visa workers at lesser paying positions than the jobs they actually perform.

MATLOFF: There is tailoring the job requirements, so that only the foreign national -- you know, that's the only person on the whole planet that would qualify because you've deliberately set it up that way.

HATTORI: Mahesh Nagaranjaiah, who heads up a Silicon Valley organization that counsels many H1-B visa holders says they're missing the bigger picture -- U.S. jobs are being exported anyway.

MAHESH MAGARAJAIAH, H1-B VISA ADVOCATE: I don't think American companies need to find loopholes in the H1-B programs, but they are sending work back to other countries like India, Russia, Israel, China, and other places, where the work can be done at a lot cheaper cost.

HATTORI: The industry also cites a dwindling pool of qualified graduates in U.S. schools.

HARRIS MILLER, INFORMATION TECH. ASSN. OF AMERICA: Half of all graduate students in the math and science programs are foreign students. When a company is looking for the best and brightest, particularly people with advanced degrees, master degrees and Ph.D.s, frequently, many of those candidates are born abroad.

BENNETT: You got any friends at Technical that have been laid off...

HATTORI: Still, that hasn't stopped Pete Bennett who takes his anti-H1-B campaign anywhere people will listen in hopes of saving any jobs he can.

BENNETT: These people are deserving American citizens, and they deserve the opportunity to be employed. And it's a tragedy the way the jobs have been manipulated.

      (END VIDEOTAPE)

HATTORI: Now you might get the idea that every software programmer in the world wants to work in Silicon Valley. But some of the high-tech workers and entrepreneurs who moved from Asia to California are heading home. Kristie Lu Stout reports on the two-way flow of talent across the Pacific.

      Oracle's founder and longtime CEO

Oracle's founder and longtime CEO is infamous for his lavish lifestyle and business acumen. Here are 30 surprising facts you may not know about Larry Ellison:
      1. Ellison is currently the 5th richest person on the planet, with a net worth of $54.3 billion (at time of writing).
      2. Born to an unwed mother in New York City, he contracted pneumonia at just nine months of age and was given to his great-aunt and uncle for adoption. He wouldn't see his biological mother again for almost five decades.
      3. Unlike Bill Gates, Larry Ellison was not exposed to computers in his childhood and didn't have that inherent advantage early in life. He was first introduced to computer design during his second attempt at university.
      4. Ellison studied at both the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Chicago, but dropped out of school for good to move to California in 1966. He'd spent a summer there between his two stints in university, after the death of his adoptive mother.
      5. Prior to the loss of his mother, Ellison had been named science student of the year at University of Illinois.
      6. The first company Ellison co-founded launched in 1977. It was called Software Development Laboratories and his investment was $1200. He and his partners won a two-year contract to build a database for the CIA; they called the project "Oracle." Their company would become Relational Software Inc. in 1979, and change names one more time, in 1982, to become Oracle Systems Corporation.
      7. Ellison almost lost everything when Oracle nearly went bankrupt in the early 1990s.
      8. An adventurer and adrenaline junkie at heart, Ellison suffered numerous injuries as a result of his participation in extreme sports, including mountain biking and body surfing.
      9. He was inducted into the Academy of Achievement (the museum of living history in Washington) in 1997.
      10. The Lawrence J. Ellison Ambulatory Care Centre opened in 1998 and is so named after he donated $5 million to seed the Lawrence J. Ellison Musculo-Skeletal Research Centre. Ellison has shattered his elbow in a high-speed cycling crash and felt inspired to kick off his philanthropic efforts in a huge way.
      11. Ellison sued the City of San Jose in 2000 after he was cited for violating rules around night takeoffs and landings at the San Jose Mineta International Airport. He won.
      12. As of 2002, Ellison had access to $1 billion in credit. When a judge unsealed court records in 2006 from a shareholder lawsuit, it was revealed that Ellison's accountant had chastised him for repeatedly pushing his credit limit to the max with extravagant purchases including mansions, yachts, and luxury cars.
      13. A 2003 book authored by investigative journalist Mike Wilson gets right to the heart of Ellison's legendary reputation. It's titled, The Difference Between God and Larry Ellison*: God Doesn't Think He's Larry Ellison.
      14. Ellison was responsible for the priciest real estate deal in US history when he purchased five lots on Malibu's Carbon Beach in 2004 for $65 million. He held the title only briefly; Ron Perlman unloaded his Florida estate for $70 million a few months later.
      15. Between 2004 and 2007, Ellison led Oracle through an acquisition-based growth that strategy that saw the company drop $25 billion on other software brands, large and small.
      16. By 2006, Forbes had declared him the richest Californian.
      17. That same year, Ellison made waves by reneging on his pledge to donate $115 million to Harvard University after the departure of the President of the school.
      18. From 2007 to 2009, Ellison raked in over $50 million per year (sometimes well over). In August 2009, his base salary was reduced from $1 million to one dollar.
      19. Ellison owned one of the largest yachts on the planet until 2010, when he sold his rights to the Rising Sun to David Geffen.
      20. He's a licensed pilot and owns two military jets.
      21. Ellison has been married and divorced four times. His second wife married him prior to the founding of Oracle and when they divorced shortly after, signed off on any rights to the company for $500.
      22. When Ellison married his fourth wife, romance novelist Melanie Craft, his good friend Steve Jobs served as wedding photographer.
      23. Ellison had a cameo (alongside fellow tech guru Elon Musk) in the 2010 movie Iron Man 2.
      24. In 2011, Ellison hired a "tree lawyer" (yes, those actually exist) and took his neighbors to court for blocking his views with three redwoods and an acacia tree. They eventually settled.
      25. He's one of the 128 (or so) billionaires to sign The Giving Pledge, committing at least half of his fortune to philanthropic causes.
      26. Ellison has long been passionate about yachting and in 2013, his Oracle Team USA defeated the Emirates Team New Zealand to win the America's Cup.
      27. He owns 98% of the Hawaiian island of Lanai.
      28. Ellison stepped down as CEO of Oracle in 2014, entrusting the company he built from the ground up to two trusted colleagues. He now serves as Executive Chairman and CTO.
      29. He's tried and failed to buy two NBA teams, the New Orleans Hornets and Golden Gate Warriors. Though he doesn't own a team, he still has Oracle Stadium.
      30. Ellison reportedly owns hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate around the world, including a Rhode Island estate and historic gardens in Kyoto.x

The personal drama in Contra Costa Superior for Pete Bennett reeks of corruption to the core of the legal community failures covering a broad spectrum of incidents.

Mr. Bennett endured substantial losses in nearly every cases he's been through.  After decades of losses he noticed his customers, witnesses and public officials were dead.

He shared that with Mark Peterson, about 50 witnesses and was promptly evicted from his offices owned by Jerry Overaa of Overaa Construction who coincidently went on to take over projects at Contra Costa College District after operatives corrupted by Southern Pacific destroyed his business.

      The Locust Street Murders

Pete Bennett arrived in Walnut Creek in mid-1978 after six months in San Francisco.  His reasons for leaving Cape Coral Florida were numerous, low wages, limited job opportunities and of course that timeless song by the Beach Boys about California.

One of his first incidents in San Francisco was a stabbing in the Tenderloin.  Pete was so knew he was clueless but he did the life of the victim while receiving a condemnation from the Mayor.  Those documents like others lost to time, incidents, setbacks, fire or fraud.

      The Playtex Connected Suicide

Pete Bennett's relocated to Mountain Lakes NJ. Back in 1968 the Vietnam war was developing into a national issue. My next door neighbor Matt Ratliff became my best friend along with his family we all got along.

      Matthew M. Ratliff

Matthew Miller Ratliff '80, a longtime resident of Vero Beach, FL, was born on February 14, 1958. The youngest son of Dale Ratliff, a corporation executive vice president, and the former Bettie C. Messer, an antiques dealer, Matt Ratliff grew up in Mountain Lakes, NJ, where he was graduated from Mountain Lakes High School in 1975. He entered Hamilton that year and, interested in radio broadcasting, became a disc jockey for campus radio station WHCL. He also served as a staff photographer for The Spectator and was an ultimate-frisbee enthusiast. His interest in filmmaking led him to take several courses in that field. Having majored in sociology, he was awarded his diploma in 1980.

Matt Ratliff returned to New Jersey but later settled in Vero Beach, where he held a series of property caretaking jobs. He also conducted an antiques and collectibles resale business on the side. He was a dedicated sports fisherman and scuba diver, and an avid beachcomber.

Matthew M. Ratliff, who had returned to New Jersey just last year, died on March 20, 2008, in Montclair. Unmarried, he is survived by two brothers, Mitch and Mark Ratliff, and a sister, Lynn Hove, as well as nieces and nephews.

My best friend, my nephews, Girl Friend and Daughter, my former employee and his wife, a neighbor in Danville CA, my Roommate, My Attorneys Son, City Clerk from San Ramon and local Contra Costa Board of Realtors and the band played.

      The Max Factor Connection

Max Factor & Company, the cosmetics concern, has turned to Revlon, its high‐class competitor, for its new president and chief executive officer. It named Dale Ratliff, one of Revlon's ranking sales executives, to succeed Sam Kalish, who resigned as Max Factor's top executive last July 1.
Mr. Ratliff, 47, executive vice president of sales for the Revlon domestic cosmetics and fragrances division, will assume his new title at the $350 million company on Jan. 1 and will report to Timm Crull, president and chief operating officer at Norton Simon Inc., Max Factor's parent company.
Max Factor has seen its operating profits decline dramatically over the last year. Its cosmetics and fashion division (which includes Halston fashions and the McCall Pattern Company) had pretax profits of $34.1 million for the year ended June 30, 1977. Just 12 months later that figure had slipped to $12.6 million.
A sore spot has been Its domestic cosmetics division, greatly weakened by last year's disastrous introduction of the fragrance “Just Call Me Maxi.” David Mahoney, chairman of Norton Simon, said at the annual meeting this month that the company had withdrawn funds from its basic cosmetics lines to support the “Just Call Me Maxi” introduction and found these regular lines suffered in the process.
“Ratliff is a good choice,” said one industry expert. “He knows sales and he knows the domestic cosmetics market. But he has little marketing background.” (Mr. Ratliff has been a group president at the B.V.D. Company and senior vice president and general manager of the apparel division at International Playtex.)
Just last week a cosmetics marketing executive was named to a senior post at Norton Simon. Robert Kamerschen will resign his position as president of Chanel Inc. to become senior vice president and assistant to Mr. Crull in December. Mr. Ratliff and Mr. Kamerschen worked together at Revlon.
Meanwhile, Sam Kalish, whose resignation was announced last May 30, remains on the Norton Simon payroll as a consultant. His annual salary as president of Max Factor was $190.000.

Memorial services will be held Saturday in Mountain Lake, N.J., for Dale Ratliff, president of Max Factor & Company, who died last Saturday in Los Angeles of a heart attack.
Mr. Ratliff, 47 years old, joined Max Factor in January following six years as executive vice president of the domestic cosmetics and fragrances division of Revlon Inc. Previously, he had been group vice president with the BVD Company Inc. and had also served as senior vice president and general manager of the apparel division at International Playtex Inc.
Born in Hinton, W. Va., Mr. Ratliff was a graduate of Duke University. He served in the Marine Corps, attaining the rank of captain.
Mr. Ratliff is survived by his wife, the former Bettie Messer; three sons, Mitchell, Mark and Matthew; a daughter, Lynn, and his mother, Augusta J. Ratliff. The memorial services will be held at P.M. at the Community Church in Mountain Lake.
